The Center for Hyperhidrosis at Columbia University Medical Center has been a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of hyperhidrosis in the New York Metropolitan area for over 5 years. Our commitment to this disorder is evident in our team approach to hyperhidrosis. Over this time, our surgical approach has evolved to decrease the incision size, reduce the post operative recovery time, and hasten return to full activity. Dr. Lyall Gorenstein, a board certified Thoracic Surgeon, directs the Center for Hyperhidrosis at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Gorenstein is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center, and is the Director of Minimal Access Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Gorenstein employs video-assisted, or minimal access, techniques to many surgical procedures in the chest which previously required larger incisions to be performed. Dr. Marc Grossman, Professor of Clinical Dermatology at Columbia University Medical Center, directs the non-surgical approaches to hyperhidrosis. Dr. Grossman is board certified in both dermatology and internal medicine, and has experience with all methods of non-surgical therapy for palmar hyperhidrosis, including Botox® therapy. Dr. Jeffery Ascherman, a board certified plastic surgeon, and chief of the division of plastic surgery at New York Presbyterian hospital, contributes his surgical expertise to the care of patients with axillary hyperhidrosis. Dr. Ascherman specializes in reconstructive, plastic and cosmetic surgery. He offers patients with severe axillary hyperhidrosis a permanent surgical solution. The technique he uses can significantly reduce or eliminate embarrassing axillary sweating with minimal side effects. To schedule a consultation with Dr. Ascherman regarding axillary hyperhidrosis call his office at (212) 305-9612.
